Today many hospital housekeeping services are a manual process which needs to assimilate all information on rooms cleaned, maintenance and other data which is required to be inputted at a nursing station for a dump to hospital backend systems.
Hôpitel’s Bed Management and Status application keeps track of whether housekeeping has completed preparing a bed to receive a patient. The application works by providing housekeeping staff an application that uses the in-room TV Media Terminals to provide a “Bed Status” menu. The housekeeping staff uses a RFID card/tag, smart card, or an IR remote specific to them to indicate the current state of the room such as cleaning started, cleaning finished and bed is ready to receive a patient, needs isolation cleanup or maintenance etc. This information is then communicated to bed management so that they can manage bed availability in real time, making the whole process more efficient. Phone calls to nursing floors and housekeeping to determine bed status are eliminated.
Hôpitel’s facility management real-time bed status and room maintenance application is a complete automated process. Utilising the in-room patient Bedside or Footwall TV Terminals housekeeping personnel can transmit data directly through the Hôpitel system providing real-time information being sent back to supervisors with notifications such as:
