Today's healthcare industry is under pressure to reduce clinical and administrative costs and meet tighter compliance and security mandates. Hôpitel provides the technology, services and consulting experience hospitals need to meet those demands and realize new opportunities in the ever-changing healthcare environment. A pioneer in healthcare services technology, Hôpitel remains at the forefront of improving how healthcare organizations deliver efficient, high-quality care.
Hôpitel has developed a cost-effective approach to next-generation information processing technologies through a specifically designed Point-of-Care software application that is compatible with EPIC®, MediTech®, Cerner®, OACIS®, CrystalNet®, DCI®, DSQ®, Citrix® My Chart®, and many other EMR hospital systems. This Point of Care system delivered on the hospital coaxial or ethernet TV Media Terminals distribution network provides hospital personnel secure access via an RFID card/tag, smart card or an IR remote specific to them to clinical data through a variety of graphical user interfaces displaying patient Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) on the patient TV Media Terminals at bedside which improves the quality and safety of patient care, allowing medical care providers and patients to make safer, faster and better treatment decisions which can also help in reducing the possibility of medical errors at the bedside.
The Hôpitel Point-of-Care technology helps healthcare organizations integrate clinical data from multiple sources and allows that information to be easily viewed, shared, and analyzed all at the convenience of bedside to improve patient relationships and healthcare through more access to critical information. The data in the EMR can also assist medical personnel in empowering patients to get involved and engaged in their own healthcare by having the ability to view their EMR with a medical professional directly from their hospital bed.
Hôpitel can easily integrate to Dietary systems utilizing an API in an interoperable way. The Hôpitel TV Media Terminal can be used for patients to conveniently view and order patient hospital meals once the terminal is interfaced to the Hospital backend dietary system. Hospitals implementing the dietary interface experience an overall increase in patient satisfaction.
When patients use the Bedside and Footwall TV Media Terminals to order meals, their satisfaction grows, hsopital staff saves time, hospital expenses decrease, and have a reduction in food waste.
When patients place an order its seamlessly interfaces with existing systems used by the hospital’s dietary services department. Streamlining this process gives the patient control and frees up caregivers. Caregivers are then able to focus solely on providing compassionate care.
In some hospitals snack or food items can be ordered for a visiting family member from the food concession vendors providing the hospital an increased revenue opportunity. (Tim Hortons®, Second Cup®, Subway®, Variety Store etc.)
Hopitel can provide patient room environmental controls systems utilizing an API in an interoperable way. The Hôpitel TV Media Terminal can be used for patients to conveniently control their in-room patient environment from the TV Media Terminal directly from bedside. Hôpitel can easily integrate to integrate with any IP automation system which can include:
Hôpitel’s Bed Management and Status application keeps track of whether housekeeping has completed preparing a bed to receive a patient. The application works by providing housekeeping staff an application that uses the in-room TV Media Terminals to provide a “Bed Status” menu. The housekeeping staff uses a RFID card/tag, smart card, or an IR remote specific to them to indicate the current state of the room such as cleaning started, cleaning finished and bed is ready to receive a patient, needs isolation cleanup or maintenance etc. This information is then communicated to bed management so that they can manage bed availability in real time, making the whole process more efficient. Phone calls to nursing floors and housekeeping to determine bed status are eliminated.
