Hôpitel has developed a cost-effective approach to next-generation information processing technologies through a specifically designed Point-of-Care software application that is compatible with EPIC®, MediTech®, Cerner®, OACIS®, CrystalNet®, DCI®, DSQ®, Citrix® My Chart®, and many other EMR hospital systems. This Point-of-Care system delivered on the hospital coaxial or ethernet TV Media Terminal distribution network, provides hospital personnel secure access via an RFID card/tag, smart card or an IR remote specific to them. The clinical data is presented through a variety of graphical user interfaces displaying patient Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) on the patient TV Media Terminals at bedside which improves the quality and safety of patient care, allowing medical care providers and patients to make safer, faster and better treatment decisions which can also help in reducing the possibility of medical errors at the bedside.

Hôpitel’s PatientLogix Anywhere Access Health Education Clinician Authoring Tool can be configured to administer and securely deliver patient health education media (videos), PDFs, and follow-up questionnaires to patients through a hospital in-room TV Media Terminal, Computer, Tablet, or a Mobile Phone storing the data in a SQL database to be called upon for reporting purposes.
As this powerful health education clinician authoring tool is cloud-based it can be easily accessed through an authenticated secure portal from any location within or outside a hospital facility. Its comprehensive media management, user management, reporting and support tools empowers hospital personnel to prescriptively distribute health education media from the PatientLogix Anywhere Access’s Health Education video library which currently boasts hundreds of relevant and up to date health educational videos accessible in English, in addition to a rapidly growing content collection of French and Spanish videos.
The health education clinician authoring tool’s user-friendly drag and drop GUI interface provides an intuitive environment that simplifies the management of the media and enables easy and efficient browsing and assigning of the health education media content. Based on the PatientLogix subscription rights acquired by the healthcare facility the assignment of the health education media can be processed individually, or by groups, with or without follow-up questionnaires in the On-Demand or Schedule Guides or Prescriptively catered to a specific patient, to a specific group of patient types, to specific hospital wards or to outpatients for their viewing from home their home or workplace.

As this powerful Questionnaire & Survey Authoring Tool is Cloud based it enables and empowers hospital personnel to create their own customized health education media (video) follow-up questionnaires to measure health education comprehension of the media (videos) and surveys on patient satisfaction, or any other type and survey from any location within or outside their facilities. Based on the PatientLogix subscription rights acquired by the healthcare facility the follow-up questionnaires and surveys can be distributed in a general broadcast, on a prescriptive basis catered to a specific patient, catered to a specific group of patient types, or catered to specific hospital wards. A minimum percentage patient score threshold can be assigned to each of the media (videos) follow-Up Questionnaires and Surveys enabling clinicians to be notified from the PatientLogix system via an email if interventions are required if score values are below the threshold.

Hôpitel’s Bed Management and Status application keeps track of whether housekeeping has completed preparing a bed to receive a patient. The application works by providing housekeeping staff an application that uses the in-room TV Media Terminals to provide a “Bed Status” menu. The housekeeping staff uses a RFID card/tag, smart card, or an IR remote specific to them to indicate the current state of the room such as cleaning started, cleaning finished and bed is ready to receive a patient, needs isolation cleanup or maintenance etc. This information is then communicated to bed management so that they can manage bed availability in real time, making the whole process more efficient. Phone calls to nursing floors and housekeeping to determine bed status are eliminated.
Hopitel can provide hospitals a soft call nurse call button on the Main Menu of its patient user interface which would be integrated with the existing hospital nurse call system utilizing an API in an interoperable way providing a redundant system for patients and clinical stakeholders.
