The Hôpitel in-house Software Development Center's primary mission is to work to develop and expand the boundaries of hospital software applications and technology, engage in research, develop innovative applications, and embed and integrate them within the institutions we service to the betterment of the hospital environment and culture. We specifically apply the results of our software products and applications to benefit the patient experience and care givers, in addition to creating a more efficient working environment for staff within the hospital.

The Hôpitel in-house Software Development Center has a team of software programmers and network engineers who support all Hôpitel software applications and have a significant impact in each of the following areas:

Enterprise Services: Hôpitel promotes the successful marketing of interactive and communication technologies and patient rental services through automated software processes designed to increase patient and care giver satisfaction while simultaneously increasing rental revenues and hospital commissions.

Health Education: Hôpitel supports, facilitates, initiates, and encourages the transformation and use of technology and the Health Educational media content hospital-wide; in clinics and from the patient home and workplace to enhance the overall Health Educational processes of all patients and to provide an easily accessible network to hospital staff for ongoing health education training purposes.

Point-of-Care: Hôpitel increases and extends the hospital’s efficiencies as a centre for excellence by providing the conduit and expertise to facilitate Point of Care applications and technologies at bedside utilising the in-room TV Media Terminals such as; Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Dietary Meal Menus, Automated Room Controls and more. In addition, Hôpitel always works closely with the hospital's Information Technology departments to ensure that all of Hôpitel's customized applications work in unison with the hospital's existing computer network infrastructure and meet all of the hospital’s network standards, privacy and security requirements.


User Interface Development

Hôpitel’s user Interface (UI) Design focuses on anticipating what users might need to do and ensuring that the interface has elements that are easy to access, understand, and use to facilitate those actions. The Hôpitel UI brings together concepts from interaction design, visual design, and information architecture.

Intuitive Media-Centric Patient Graphical User Interfaces - The Hôpitel’s simple intuitive Control Panel and menu process with its easily identifiable icons, descriptive on-screen text prompts, oversized menu keys developed for both Touchscreen and Interactive TV Pillow Speaker remote processing, enables patients to navigate to their desired applications quickly and efficiently.

Seamless and Familiar Patient Graphical User Interface Design Patterns Across all its Device Platforms - For patients who may be transferred to different rooms and or Hospitals where there may be different equipment deployed such as the Bedside Touchscreen and Large Footwall TV Media Terminals the Hôpitel solution provides a seamless and familiar patient user interface design patterns across all its device platforms. This universal look and feel provides patients a quick understanding of how to navigate the user interface with less learning involvement and enabling them to get to their desired media quicker and easier no matter which Hôpitel display device platform they are using.


Agile Development

Hôpitel follows the principles of agile software development whereby its communication processes to resolve issues and complete projects quickly and efficiently for its patient and hospital clientele is one of its guiding principles that it follows in its development processes. Hôpitel’s customer and management practices, which address agile requirements analysis, planning and project management, and programmer practices, which address how to work with the code in an agile way which is responsive, are all fundamental principles in its software development processes. Software Quality Assurance (SQA)

Hôpitel’s two in-house SQA resources ensures that Hôpitel’s developed software meets and complies with defined or standardized quality specifications. The SQA program is an ongoing process within the software development life cycle (SDLC) that routinely checks the developed software to ensure it meets desired quality measures. The Hôpitel Software Development Center will continue to accomplish its missions by offering the hospitals a unique array of technological development, project management, product and application assessments, and commercialization skills.
