Hôpitel provides interactive services and applications to patients via the Meditel Media Studio user interface throughout the hospital environment. The Meditel Media Studio user interface is quickly setting the standard in the healthcare industry by offering innovative applications and features that have been specifically designed to accommodate a patient’s day-to-day interactive info-entertainment, communication, education and hospitality needs.

These patient centric multimedia interactive applications are unparalleled in the industry and can be delivered to patients in acute care and long-term healthcare facilities, dialysis units, clinics and hospital environments.

The Meditel Media Studio simple intuitive menu process with easily identifiable icons, descriptive on-screen text and prompts, oversized menu keys and or touch screen technology enables patients to navigate to their desired applications quickly and efficiently helping transform their tasks into an efficient dynamic state-of-the-art patient user experience.

Infotainment

Hôpitel’s Meditel Media comprising of infotainment and interactive technologies and services for patients in hospitals can include a wide variety of programming with up to 50 Broadcast cable TV channels, Scheduled Movie Channel and On-Demand TV and Media via many of the major broadcast stations such as CBC®, CTV®, Global®, ABC®, CBS®, NBC®, Fox®, CNN®, TSN®, RDS®, VTele®, Teletoon® , YTV® to name a few.
 
On-Demand

On-Demand TV, Movies and Music are made available for a patient’s interactive viewing and listening pleasure via Netflix®, YouTube®, Rdio®. Patients can also tune into any online radio station for further music and talk radio content.
 
Video Communications & Instant Messaging

Hôpitel’s video communications technology and services for patients in hospitals can support many of the most popular Videoconferencing and or Video Chat applications directly from our Media Station using Hôpitel’s integrated PatientCam™ technology giving the patient the ability to access their personal accounts and contacts on the Videoconferencing and or Instant Messaging with Video Chat service of their choosing. These VC and IMVC applications may include Google Voice®, Skype®, Twitter®, Google™ Talk, Windows Live® Messenger, Yahoo! ® Messenger, AOL® Messenger and AIM® Chat.

Hôpitel’s communications technology and services for patients in hospitals can include Analogue and or VOIP telephony, and can support many of the most popular Instant Messaging applications directly from our Media Station giving patients the ability to access their personal IM accounts and contacts on the IM service of their choosing. These IM applications may include Twitter®, Google™ Talk, Windows Live® Messenger, Yahoo! ® Messenger, AOL® Messenger , AIM® Chat etc.
 
Internet - LAN & Wi-Fi

Hôpitel can offer full access to Internet and webmail services directly through our Media Station or through a separate wireless network managed by Hôpitel where patients can take their mind off their health conditions and surf the Internet. Providing Internet service is an excellent way for patients and guests to stay connected in a hospital facility making for a far less boring stay for their inpatients and their visitors by providing access to social networking websites such as Facebook®, Twitter®, YouTube®, Instagram®, LinkedIn® etc.
 
Email

Patients can stay connected with their office, family and friends through their own web email service provider and email address. Supported providers: Gmail®, Hotmail®, Yahoo Mail®, Sympatico®, Videotron®, Rogers®, Shaw® and Telus®
 
Games

Hôpitel can offer a full suite of patient gaming applications which include a full complement of interactive touch screen parlour and computer games that can help relieve sickbed boredom and keep patients moods upbeat.
 
Dietary Meal Selections & Snack/Food Ordering

The TV Media Station can be used for patients to conveniently order patient hospital meals once the TV Media Station is interfaced to the Hospital dietary system. Hospitals implementing the dietary interface experience an overall increase in patient satisfaction. In some hospitals snack or food items can be ordered for a visiting family member from the concession vendors providing the hospital an increased revenue opportunity. (Tim Hortons®, Second Cup®, Variety Store, Subway®)
 
Health Education

Hôpitel can make available to patients On-Demand, On-Schedule or Prescriptive Patient Educational information on the in-room TV Media Station in hospitals, on wireless Tablets in clinics and on Computers and Smart Phones in the patient’s home via its cloud based PatientLogix Media Delivery platform for patient awareness and training on disease, self-care and rehabilitation. Each hospital can order and manage its own content from the over 2000 Health Education videos residing on the PatientLogix Media to ensure that it is always screened and fully endorsed by its own medical staff prior to any broadcast. This audio visual health educational tool is another Hôpitel method of applying technology both within the hospital environment and outside the hospital environment in health education and training in an extremely cost effective manner. These self-awareness and training applications significantly assist patients in becoming more independent and self-reliant, all of which provides direct results in reducing re-admissions, hospital costs and the burden on nursing human resources to fulfill these ever increasing, and important hospital and patient processes.
 
Automated Patient Transfer Tracking

Patient bed transfers are automatically tracked in the event the patient is transferred to another room as the rental service follows the patient to the new location without the need for a Hôpitel representative to activate it keeping patients content and entertained with continuous access to infotainment.
